Insurance

Brittany accepts the following insurance:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • Humana

If you have one of the above insurance carriers, please download the Insurance Verification Form, fill out the top part and email it to brittany@planocounseling.org. Brittany will check on your benefits and then email you back to let you know what your copay would be for each counseling session. If you would prefer for Brittany to call you with your benefit information, then please include your phone number and the best time to reach you in your email.

For all other clients, Brittany works on a sliding scale and provides medically coded receipts for clients who wish to file for reimbursement with their own insurance companies. Depending on your individual coverage, you may qualify for out-of-network benefits. Please check with your insurance carrier for details about your specific coverage.

Why aren’t CCA counselors on any other insurance plans?

It has been our experience that managed care insurance plans have, in recent years, become more trouble than they are worth, for both the client and the clinician. The well-being of the client is often less important than the insurance company’s drive to collect fees. For example, with many insurance plans, client confidentiality is frequently compromised in an effort to get sessions authorized. A client’s therapeutic needs are often governed by the limited choices allowed by a particular plan.

How do I know if my out-of-network insurance covers counseling?

You can call the number on your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network mental/behavioral health benefits.

How does CCA assist in the process of filing a claim?

Brittany submits claims for her clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Humana, so you only have to pay your co-pay according to your benefits.  We provide all of our other clients with a receipt at the end of every session containing all the information necessary to file a claim with insurance companies.

What do I do if my insurance doesn’t cover any out-of-network groups?

Discuss financial concerns with Brittany. She works on a sliding scale and can set you up on a payment plan.  She does not want money to be the reason that you can not come to counseling.
